We have been bringing visitors to Skellig Michael from Portmagee Marina since 1965, when Michael Casey first began operating tours to the islands. Three generations of the family have continued that tradition, with the same values, local knowledge, care for these waters, and a genuine connection to the islands.
Local and sustainable
Our Crew and Vessels
All of our skippers and crew are locals who grew up along this stretch of the Kerry coast. Our vessels are fully equipped for Atlantic conditions and licensed by the Irish Maritime Survey Office.
As official OPW permit holders for Skellig Michael landings, we take our responsibility for the island seriously. Skellig Michael is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most ecologically and historically significant sites in Europe. We are committed to operating in a way that respects and protects it.

Skellig Tours from Portmagee
We operate two Skellig tour types from Portmagee Marina throughout the season. Both give you close access to one of the most remarkable island sites in Europe.
Landing Tour
Step ashore and explore the island. Climb the 618 stone steps to the monastery. Max 12 passengers. Season: mid-May to end of September.

Circle both Skellig Michael and Little Skellig by water. See the wildlife, gannet colony and historic sites from the boat. Season: April to early October.
